Therapeutic metaphors and personal meanings in group poetry therapy for people with schizophrenia

This article concerns the therapeutic potential of metaphor in group poetry therapy, concentrating on therapy process people diagnosed with schizophrenia. The data was collected a one-year group. main questions were: (1) What kind can metaphors offer therapy? (2) are personal meanings and evaluations that participants give to its effects their lives? (3) most significant elements from viewpoint client? analysis based Grounded theory method. results showed factors were social interaction, safety, written self-expression. Writing setting, especially through collaborative writing, had many positive clients. It allowed them experience life’s worth raising hope. Metaphors writing made it possible discuss difficult experiences.
